Bamboo Dome-part2

On Wednesday(11/8), we were asked to sketch out the draft of our bamboo dome during lesson RAG132. Here is our group sketching. Actually we had dicussed it in part one and roughly have an idea, jus that we didn't skecth it out.ha..

After that, Mr.Wanb showed us a sample which could help us in doing the dome, to make it easier to assemble. It is cool, but where shall we go to get it?
Then, our group decided to go to "bengkel" again to search for the pipes. But this gentleman told us that there is not such kind of pipe in "bengkel" and kindly told us to get it at the shops near Tesco. Besides, he did teach us how to make it in the shape too, that is use fire to heat it until it become soft and then use hammer to beat it into the shape we want.
Really thank for his guidance. ^^
Later on, after we discussed, we decided to buy bamboo by taking order with our coursemate Yeap Shi Jia. She persuaded us to buy together so that we can share the expansive transport fee.haha..
We have ordered 12 bamboo which is about 13feets high.

Bamboo dome-Part 1

Our group is named YTT Sdn. Bhd. which is stand for Yew(is me), Tan and Tay(our group leader). This time, as Prof. Wan request, we need to form a group of three people to make a bamboo dome which can only "carriable" by the group members, able to float all the group members and can last long up to 28months. Besides, we are only gave 30 minutes to assemble our product.

Having a group discussion among our group members, everyone is giving their oppinion and suggestion in order to make a bamboo dome with those conditions applied. All the funny and weird ideas come out. Finally, we got a draft of the thing and decide to pay a visit at "bengkel" on the next day.
We ask the authority in "bengkel" to get some useful suggestion in doing the dome. Thank to the gentleman who gave us some idea. Later on, we went to the motor shop and ask for the rubber which they usually throw away.

Kindly enough, the motor shop's boss is willing to give us the rubber(as a tool to tight up all the bamboo). We went to the shop and pick its up the next day and we are really appreciate with his help! (hope those rubbers work..)

First part-end.

Assignment 1-virtual construction

Before we carry out one activity, there is always an intention for us to do so. This intention will lead us to do what should be done and thus involve people which can either be only one person or many people. Then these people will have some act according to their rule. After all, the product will be formed and for sure, there is a place for them to produce it. Below, there are some pictures i used for further explanation about this cycle of production model which we learnt in RAG132.

1. INTENTION
In order to boost the spirit of sport among students and create interaction for students who are different in races, "merentas desa" had been organised by my secondary school-Canossian Convent in Kluang, Johor every year. While for students, they have their own intention too for taking part in this activity, hoping that they can help their group to get a higher marks and be the champion for the year.

2. PEOPLE

All the Convent students were involved in this activity except for those who are weak. That was about 750 students took part as Form 1 to Form 5 students were involved. Besides, all the teachers in Convent were also played a part in this activity as to guide us.

3. ACT
When reached their turn, all the students run as fast as they can in order to reach the destination on time. For some students who didn't take it seriously, they will just choose to walk for the whole journey.

4. RULE

There was some rules for students to follow. First, they are not allowed to push each other at the starting point for the sake of their safety as there were always crowded in the place they set off. Second, they have to follow the instruction of teachers in order not to get lost. Third, only students who reach in time will get the mark for their team.

5.PRODUCT

After all, teachers summed up the mark for each group and the highest mark won. In year 2007, my team-red team won! The product that formed through this activity was not only the prizes students received but also the creation of sweet and happy memories among those students. Hence, the intention from school authorities in organising this activity was succeed.

6.PLACE

The places for us to carry out this activity were in SMK Canossian Convent school and the housing area that near by the school. For more detail, the place that all students gathered were at the "astaka" of the school.
